Funny how Bobby started to take the "Lotta poor man got the Cumberland Blues" part 7:47. Jerry faked him out. Or was he giving Jerry a vocal cue?

I love the look Jerry and Brent share around 5:40....like they're saying...see you in Heaven soon...we'll jam up there too!

This is a lot tighter than the Woodstock version. I have another version on a 1971 live album on vinyl. This is nice and tight, Weir is much more articulate. I have heard John Phillips, Joni Mitchell and Grateful Dead versions. Nice job boys.

  14. joesephwind says:

nice job, but I prefer the orginal version by Joni Mitchell. Plus those short shorts are so distracting and I'm gay and still can't deal with them.. It must have been very hot.

  15. charfman84 says:

    @joesephwind

and you know it was the hottest part of the day...

  16. xcrcapone says:

@joesephwind It's actually not a Joni Mitchell cover.. It's a John Phillips song that The Dead and her covered.

  17. zackp217 says:

    what year is this?

  18. joesephwind says:

@xcrcapone Thanks for the enlightenment! I see now you are corrent and John Phillips wrote it prior to the 1965 airing of Joni singing it, but I can't find a posting of him singing it prior to then. Did he just write it for others?

  19. kelbsmith says:

    Love the shorts! Yayuh!

  20. xcrcapone says:

@joesephwind.. Well Judy Collins first covered it. He had forgotten he wrote it. It's a funny story. I read it in the coffee table book called "Hippies".

  21. TWEC21 says:

--- these boys loved their work so much, sometimes they'd jump in on each others vocals. Dont hate! They are just kids in the candy shop :D

I'm sorry, but Mickey just doesn't look right with long hair

  25. aurthordog says:
