  4. 4uchuck says:

    I really Miss Joe Rick!

  5. coyote023 says:

@4uchuck Bro i had a dear friend whose name when we shortened it was joe rick. What is the last name of the joe rick you speak of? Me and my friend joe rick saw many a show together and shared many, many life experiences on the road of the traveling circus that we called " the grateful dead'' Joe passed away a few years back and the world lost a classic dude if there ever was one.Man do i miss joe he was and still is a true brother of mine.my wife never met him but she feels she has from stories

remember what we used to say ..."walked me out for a mornin' pooo".... we dared to take jerry lightly. aah, stoopit youth. miss him eternally.

  7. Harpersedg says:

This is definitely a strong Dew here, in a year that gets little love. I was at this show (went to the Hampton and then this Philly run, all 6 shows, during spring break). What doesn't really come through in the audio here is Brent's playing. He does a lot to make this a unique, powerful version. I still think that the Dew from Hampton, VA, spring 1984 is better (the best I've heard). Go track that monster down...April 14th (or so), 1984...Hampton Coliseum...also out of space like this one.

  8. Wolfgasm0414 says:

thank you this made my early night......... Merry Cristmas And A Happy Bob Weir!!!!!!!

  9. costaricageorge says:

My first show. I was in Ninth Grade.

  10. what1111000 says:

Story I heard is Jerry was motivated because he was pissed at Bobby for playing Lost Sailor earlier (last time sailor ever played). Jerry wouldn't let Bobby play sailor after he heard it was about him (jerry). So jerry said fu bobby, i'm not that "lost".. so shut up and listen to me play this!

  11. what1111000 says:

@ittaiman yeah u consider what we used to do to get our hands on a few good quality tapes and it wasn't that long ago... technology is good for something.

  12. slipyourhips says:

My 1st show too! We never forget our 1st. Simply amazing

  13. shenked says:

@slipyourhips THAT HAD TO BE A TIME AND SOME-WAS UR 2ND THE NEXT SHOW?

  14. slipyourhips says:

@shenked Actually, yes. This was a magical time to be a young head. Camping was still allowed in the park across from the Spectrum. By the next year we were made to camp in the parking lots in Philly. But the boys always put on great shows in Philly. However I have to say, there's nothing that can prepare you for West coast shows. Amazing.

  15. lexurk says:

i wish i could have been around to see them play

  16. shenked says:

@slipyourhips thats the old school beautifullness thanx for the philly show-alot of scenes arenet bout music but drugs and money so sad!I remember WILMERS-it turned me on and spun me around=money wasnt an object -if you couldnt get a dose from a person every minute or so 4 free.IT WAS MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-gov;t mule played -this is th 2nd allgood festival at wilmers park

  17. HavaGratefulDaye says:

  19. obliviousdude says:

I went to that one. One of the few shows where they ended on a beautiful Dew instead of following it with a Sugar Mag or some other Bobby dreck. It soothed my soul.
