I shot this video and am glad that after so many years, people are enjoying it.

  2. JoshuaTaylor says:

These words are coming true... Which scares the living shit out me....

  3. PATOMMM says:

Beautiful song, but like ccsbennett, always brings a tear to my eye. Rest in peace, Jerry, we love you.

  4. JoshDone says:

I had quit seeing the Dead by the time they started playing this song, but it's a bummer and depresses me to hear a dying man sing about death. Not one of my favorites.

  5. PhotoCher says:

@JoshDone your interpretation is at least as valid as mine--but I see the transcendent, in love, creative days being the Days, and the "traffic jam, boogie street" (to borrow from L.Cohen) as the days between. Life. Ygotta live and love some to notice that. IMHO.

  6. PhotoCher says:

Not that I've lead an exciting life. Took these songs for me to get that idea. If you like, listen to "thousand Kisses Deep" on

  7. PhotoCher says:

    Leonard Cohens

  8. PhotoCher says:

10 new songs. His official website has a nice vid of Leonard explaining the song.

  9. jdubbbb420 says:

Awesome I was at this show.....I know only because I have the ticket stub..LOL. Miss you Jerry!!

  10. gawdpdx says:

Believe it or not: this is my all time favorite Jerry ballad. The perfect song for him. Kills me everytime I hear it.

  11. CaptainFantastik1 says:

I was at this show! Thanks so much for posting. One of the most beautiful songs ever written. Chokes me up every time. The most perfect chord progression ever.

  12. CaptainFantastik1 says:

@UmpquaNation I hear ya man. I got this song at quite a few of the last shows I ever got to see on the west coast. This song still chokes me up every time. There was nothing like being at a Grateful Dead show and experiencing songs like this. I'd give anything to have those days back.

  13. shermski77 says:

@ccsbennett i agree black muddy and days between bring about the tears...i must add unbroken chain, and so many roads to that list.

  14. casualtySR says:

Jerry looks like Zeus speaking from the heavens... fitting.

  15. coyote023 says:

I very rarely have any negatvity to point towards garcia but i gotta be honest this was easily one of his and hunters biggest flops. In the "90"s it was real hard to catch a show that was pretty good (great does not apply in the "90"s) show and jerry would take the band to this song, well dissappointment was the word that fits here. I must be honest but it made me cringe, i am a morning dew man but even they were weak in the "90"s, but garcia would do killer stella blue"s which was fine 4 me.

  16. nicospico123 says:

@shermski77 i'm only 20, so i never got to see jerry, but when i listen to some of these ballads, especially, 94-95 versions of so many roads, it brings a tear to my eye

  17. polishrnpunk says:

Trippin my ass off!!! I was there for the is concert, I think!

  18. mythtree says:

    we were there weren't we...

  19. ikoiko84 says:

I cry every time I hear this song...Jerry touched my soul so deeply, I will never go a day without missing him :(

  20. ikoiko84 says:

I miss Jerry so very much :(

  21. jam6va says:

Although this is a polarizing song I grew up on these "new" tunes in the late 80's and 90's. Most folks like they time frame of shows that they experienced. Noting wrong with that...as long as we respect each other we can embrace our differences!

  22. southrules says:

I was there! Only Dead show I ever made it to and it was incredible!

  23. mikemednick says:

Days between.........being born and the soul reaching its final destination....so its been known from the beginning.......gotta think deep to understand these days between. Thanks Jerry for all the memories.. God Bless you in Eternity
