Wake of the Flood Album

Wake of the Flood Album Picture Obtained Through Wikipedia Wake of the Flood is the Grateful Dead's sixth studio album. Recorded between August and September of 1973 and released in October of 1973. This was the first album to be released under the band's own label, Grateful Dead Records and was their first full-length studio album in nearly three years (1970's American Beauty being the previous). Wake of the Flood was the first studio album without Ron "Pigpen" McKernan, who had recently died. The Dead's new piano player Keith Godchaux's, changed the band's sound towards jazz rather than McKernan's blues. "Let Me Sing Your Blues Away" is the only song writing and vocal contribution from Keith and was performed live but a handful of times during '73. After being released on CD for the first time in 1995 by Grateful Dead Reords and Arista, it was re released in the box set Beyond Description. Rhino Records re released a seperate CD in '06.

Weather Report Suite: Part 1 & Part 2 Lyrics

Weather Report Suite: Part 1 & Part 2 Lyrics

Winter rain, now tell me why, Summers fade, and roses die. The answer came; the wind and rain. Golden hills, now veiled in grey, Summer leaves have blown away Now what remains? The wind and rain. And like a desert spring, my lover comes and spreads her wings, Knowing, Like a song that's born to soar the sky, Flowing, Flowing 'til the waters all are dry, Growing, the loving in her eyes. Circle songs and sands of time, and seasons will end in tumbled rhyme, and little change, the wind and rain. And like a desert spring, my lover comes and...

Eyes Of The World Lyrics

Eyes Of The World Lyrics

Right outside this lazy summer home you ain't got time to call your soul a critic no. Right outside the lazy gate of winter's summer home, wonderin' where the nut-thatch winters, wings a mile long just carried the bird away. Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world, the heart has it's beaches, it's homeland and thoughts of it's own. Wake now, discover that you are the song that the mornin' brings, But the heart has it's seasons, it's evenin's and songs of it's own. There comes a redeemer, and he slowly too fades...

Here Comes Sunshine Lyrics

Here Comes Sunshine Lyrics

Wake of the flood, laughing water, forty-nine, Get out the pans, don't just stand there dreamin' Get out of the way, get out of the way, Here comes sunshine, here comes sunshine. Line up a long shot maybe try it two times, maybe more, Good to know you got shoes to wear when you find the floor, Why hold out for more? Here comes sunshine, here comes sunshine. Askin' you nice, now, keep the mother rollin' One more time, been down before, You just don't have to go no more, no more. Here comes sunshine, here comes...

Row Jimmy Lyrics

Row Jimmy Lyrics

Julie catch a rabbit by his hair Come back steppin' like to walk on air Get back home where you belong And don't you run off no more. Don't hang your head, let the two time roll Grass shack nailed to a pine wood floor Ask the time baby I don't know Come back later, gonna let it show. I say row Jimmy row, gonna get there, I don't know, Seems a common way to go, get out and row, row, row, row, row. Here's a half dollar if you dare Double twist when you hit the air, Look at Julie down below, The levee doin' the do-pas-o. I...

Let Me Sing Your Blues Away Lyrics

Let Me Sing Your Blues Away Lyrics

Gonna hop in the hack then turn on the key, Pop in the clutch, let the wheels roll free, Not a cloud in the sky, such a sunny day, Push in the button, let the top ten play. Come on honey, let me sing 'em away, Come on honey, let me sing 'em away, Oh, honey, let me sing your blues away. Give me a little of that old time love, Cause I ain't never had near enough. Honey, walk that walk with style and grace, This ain't no knock-down drag-out race. It don't matter much, pick any gear, Brind you a pound and drop the rear. Baby,...

Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo Lyrics

Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo Lyrics

On the day when I was born Daddy sat down and cried. I had the mark just as plain as day; which could not be denied. They say that Cain caught Abel rollin' loaded dice; Ace of Spades behind his ear and him not thinkin' twice. Halfstep, Mississippi uptown toodeloo Hello, baby, I'm gone, goodbye Half a cup of Rock and Rye. Farewell to you old Southern skies I'm on my way, on my way. If all you got to live for is what you left behind, Get yourself a powder charge and seal that silver mine. Lost my boots in transit, baby, pile of smokin'...

Stella Blue Lyrics

Stella Blue Lyrics

All the years combine, they melt into a dream, A broken angel sings from a guitar. In the end there's just a song comes cryin' up the night Thru all the broken dreams and vanished years. Stella blue. Stella blue. When all the cards are down, there's nothing left to see, There's just the pavement left and broken dreams. In the end there's still that song comes cryin' like the wind. Down every lonely street that's ever been Stella blue. Stella blue. I've stayed in every blue-light cheap hotel, can't win for trying. Dust off those rusty strings...
